Warwick Castle to shine yellow in support of lifesaving charity

A Warwickshire landmark is set to light up yellow to raise awareness of the lifesaving work of the The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS).

Air Ambulance Week 2023 – which is running from 04 to 10 September – is dedicated to raising awareness of air ambulance charities across the country and this year is delivering the vital message that ‘we can’t save lives without you’.

From 7pm on Thursday 07 September, Warwick Castle will be illuminated yellow to shine a light on the work carried out by The Air Ambulance Service – which this year celebrates 20 years of lifesaving service.

The Air Ambulance Service operates Helicopter Emergency Medicine Service (HEMS) Your local air ambulance, which saves lives across Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

“We are incredibly proud to be lighting up the walls of Warwick Castle this week with the colour and logo of Your local air ambulance, in support of our local and all air ambulance charities that are coming together this week to raise awareness of the lifesaving work they provide across the UK,” said Liam Bartlett, our General Manager at Warwick Castle.

Here at Warwick Castle, we aim to support the local community and charities, and feel honoured to have been chosen to participate in the Air Ambulance Week light up for 2023,” he added.

The week highlights the specialist skills the service brings to the scene and patients, within minutes, WNAA and DLRAA’s critical care crews can be on the ground delivering pre-hospital emergency care and giving patients the very best chance of survival – this vital service relies entirely on donations to raise the £1,700 needed for each rescue mission, as the charity receives no government or National Lottery funding, supporting the NHS free of charge.
