Northamptonshire Golf Centre raises over £4,000 to support lifesaving children’s charity

Cold Ashby Golf Centre have raised more than £4,000 to support the lifesaving missions of the Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA).

Cold Ashby Golf Centre is situated centrally to Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and the Warwickshire borders. In the middle of rolling countryside you will find an 18-hole golf course, 8 bay floodlit driving range, short game practice area, clubhouse with restaurant, bar, function suite and golf shop.

The Golf Centre’s fundraising began in January 2023 with club raffles at both Easter and Christmas, second-hand book sales at the club, charity tins in the clubhouse, a Club Captains Day and they also hosted the Northampton Ladies Golf Competition where funds raised from this were donated to support the children’s charity.

A total of £4,166.40 was raised to support the charity’s lifesaving missions for critically ill babies and children across the UK.

“We chose to support the Children’s Air Ambulance as they are a worthy and vital charity helping critically ill babies and children get the care they so desperately need as quickly as possible,” said Anne Hopwell, joint Ladies Captain for 2023.

“The support for the charity from our fellow members was enormous and I would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped us to reach this amazing amount. The charity does a wonderful job and it was a pleasure to be able to raise the vital funds to support them,” she added.

The Children’s Air Ambulance is changing the face of paediatric and neonatal care through the high-speed transfer of critically ill babies and children – flying them from local hospitals to specialist paediatric and neonatal treatment centres via the clinically designed helicopters which provide a flying intensive care unit for babies and children.

“We receive no government or National Lottery funding for our lifesaving missions and rely on the generosity of the local community to raise the £3,600 needed for each mission.”

“The funds they have raised will go towards saving another little life and will keep our helicopters flying,” she expressed.
